unnamedMy spirit animals have added a richness of imagination to my life that I would not want to be without. One of my spirit animals is the Black Panther. He guards my back and lets me know when trouble is brewing on the horizon. Another is Mama Tiger with her two little cubs. She helps me guard and guide the little ones in my life. My little ones aren’t little anymore, but they still need their mom.

Another spirit animal popped up recently: Lioness says she is a guide of the Older Order who has come to help me in my journey through the twilight years of my life, working in cooperation with other women to strengthen and empower our community.

Are you wondering about your own spirit animal and how your life could be enriched by deepening your relationship?

Please join me this Tuesday November 8 for a special conversation with local shaman Stacey Couch and henna artist Megan Riddle as we talk about spirit animals, symbology, life issues, and how it comes together in real life. Megan will demonstrate how body art can help in your spiritual journey.

Shaman Stacey Couch is the author of Gracious Wild: A Shamanic Journey with Hawks, the story of her incredible journey out of the mundane world of science and reason into the vast shamanic realms of creativity and inspiration. It’s a great read, so Stacey will have some on hand to sign for you.

Sacred Stains Henna artist Megan Riddle will demonstrate the use of temporary body art to help expand our awareness of our spirituality in real life. A henna tattoo can celebrate a special moment, empower you, aid in loss or mourning, or just be fun for vacation or to surprise someone.

I’ve gotten several henna tattoos from Megan and immensely enjoyed each one. I usually get a twining vine and flowers flowing up my forearm. Megan’s art is beautiful and it makes me feel special, too. (Henna on your skin is temporary. There are no needles so it doesn’t hurt.)
